T H E M E ~ Wide World of Dgrin - have photo critiqued in a forum and post resulting finished photo
T I T L E ~ "He Sees the World Through Rose Tinted Glasses"
P R O C E S S ~ I had at least six different composites of this one photo. He is on one layer with a heavy increase in contrast and pulled the textures from the photo, added a black and white conversion, and bloated his eye. The layer behind him is three rose brushes in increasing saturation. The bottom layer is two white and pink gradients opposing each other.
I had forgotten to remove the "3E" logo on his hat. Maybe they will hire me for promo work??
T H E M E ~ Family or Strangers - Show a relationship
T I T L E ~ "She said 'YES!!'"
P R O C E S S ~ It was an icy winter day. Man proposed to girlfriend and she almost biffs it from jumping on an icy sidewalk, but she said YES!
Colors are all straight from the camera but the blue siding behind them is a copy and paste from one small portion. There were fifteen window air conditioning units behind them that had to go. Burned the shadows and the leaves around them in photoshop.
Gradient added after contest to help guide attention to the couple.
T H E M E ~ Transportation
T I T L E ~ "Sunday Ride"
P R O C E S S ~ Taken at sundown over an exit ramp from the interstate. Used my 50mm and positioned the lens in between the links on the bridge chain link fence.
Used the burn tool to clean up all the garbage on the side of the road in the lower right corner in photoshop.
T H E M E ~ Geometric or Fluid
T I T L E ~ Fluid and Shape
P R O C E S S ~ This was taken at a foundation dig for a new house on my street. There was a week's worth of rain that flooded the dig and the water ate at the square shape terribly.
Taken with my 18-55. Low sepia tone, boosted contrast, and sharpened in iphoto.
T H E M E ~ Feathered or Scaled
T I T L E ~ "Colour, Scale, Sky"
P R O C E S S ~ Taken at the Military Memorial Cemetary. The goal was to show the larger scale of things with the reflection of the sky, the flag, and the quote on the marble of "There is no greater sacrifice..."
The lower left corner was darkened in iphoto.
T H E M E ~ Filters - Digital or Otherwise
T I T L E ~ "Dali Muse" or "Dali's Muse"
P R O C E S S ~ Dali was a heavy influence on me from a very young age. His whimsy made such an impact that I approach almost every project with unattended imagination.
Portrait taken in softened sunlight in a car garage. Used the liquify filter in photoshop to create a Dali inspired digital painting.
T H E M E ~ Primary or Pastel
T I T L E ~ "The Scent of Lavender"
P R O C E S S ~ Pool shoot at sunset, taken with 50mm.
Cropped, sharpened, and tinted light purple in iphoto.
This was the original contest entry but it was taken outside the contest period by one day.
T H E M E ~ Primary or Pastel
T I T L E ~ "No Going Back" or "Feeling Blue"
P R O C E S S ~ Lit by sunlight coming through a stained glass window on the left. Taken with 50mm lens and tinted dark blue in iphoto. This was the replacement entry.
T H E M E ~ Primary or Pastel
T I T L E ~ "Daydreaming"
P R O C E S S ~ Alternate entry but was not entered in contest. Lit by the sun coming through the stained glass. Cropped in iphoto.
T I T L E ~ "Sister Light, Sister Dark"
P R O C E S S ~ This is an outtake from the Muddy Misdemeanor shoot. I loved the reflection in this photo the most.
Added a light blue and a light purple tint to the photo and pulled the contrast in iphoto.
